How Robotic Bronchoscopy Works
Before your procedure, a high-resolution CT scan is used to create a detailed, three-dimensional map of your lungs. During the procedure, your pulmonologist uses robotic-assisted navigation to guide an ultra-thin, flexible catheter through the complex network of airways directly to the targeted lung nodule.
The robotic platform provides enhanced reach, stability, and precision, allowing physicians to obtain multiple tissue samples from different areas of the lesion for comprehensive pathological evaluation. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and is typically completed on an outpatient basis, allowing most patients to return home the same day.
