Biography

Stephanie Cook, AGNP-C, is an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner specializing in cardiovascular medicine with more than 13 years of dedicated experience caring for patients with heart disease across hospital, outpatient, rehabilitation, and telehealth settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing, Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, from Walden University, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, after receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Appalachian State University. Board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS), Stephanie joins Wilmington Health’s Cardiology team with extensive expertise in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of complex cardiovascular conditions.

Throughout her career, Stephanie has provided comprehensive care for patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, malignant hypertension, cardiac amyloidosis, and complex cardiac arrhythmias. She is highly experienced in interpreting electrocardiograms (EKGs), echocardiograms, Holter monitors, stress testing, and other advanced cardiovascular diagnostics while optimizing evidence-based medical therapies to improve outcomes and reduce hospital readmissions. Her background includes inpatient and ambulatory cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation, chest pain evaluation, and remote cardiac monitoring, allowing her to deliver seamless, coordinated care across the full continuum of cardiovascular treatment.

Stephanie is passionate about partnering with patients to help them better understand their heart health and actively participate in their care. She believes in combining the latest clinical guidelines with individualized treatment plans that reflect each patient’s unique goals and needs. Working collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams, Stephanie is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality cardiovascular care that helps patients improve their health, enhance their quality of life, and confidently navigate every stage of their cardiac journey.

In her free time, Stephanie enjoys kayaking, musical theatre, playing border collies/australian shepherds and spending time with her husband and two children.
