The plain and simple truth is that ANY type of tan—whether it comes from a tanning bed or from natural sunlight, is a response to damage to the skin’s DNA. The tan is the skin’s attempt to repair sun damage. Over time, this damage can lead to skin cancer. Remember to always use sunscreen—even on cloudy or overcast days—and schedule an annual skin cancer screening.
