Biography

Kristin Johnston Ballard, MSN, DNP-BC is a 3-time alumnus of UNCW, where she obtained her RN/BSN in 2012, her MSN/FNP in 2018, and most recently completed her Doctorate of Nursing in  May 2023. Kristin has served in our community as a registered nurse at NHRMC and Community Care of the Lower Cape Fear serving in pediatric care and case management. After obtaining her Master’s, she later supported multiple local county Child Advocacy Centers as a family nurse practitioner and child medical examiner, where she generously leveraged her compassion and expertise to support our local children in need of care post-trauma. She has most recently worked serving the Pediatric and Family Medicine populations in an acute urgent care setting where she has been able to assist patients and families with their acute and ongoing healthcare needs. Throughout her career, she has dedicated herself to supporting patients of all ages, and she has found her ultimate passion in providing holistic care to patients of all ages. This includes ensuring they have the education and tools needed to understand their diagnoses and how to best care for themselves, their children and/or their loved ones.

Kristin enjoys spending time with family, being a mother, riding horses, enjoying time outdoors, and taking care of their farm/animals.
