Biography

Dr. David Shoemaker graduated from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. He completed an Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He then completed a Rheumatology Fellowship at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Dr. Shoemaker served his final year at the VCU Health System as Chief Fellow. Dr Shoemaker first discovered an interest in rheumatic diseases early in his training and enjoys treating patients through these complex medical problems. He strives to ensure each patient’s care is tailored to their unique set of needs and goals.

In his leisure time, Dr Shoemaker enjoys spending time with his family and friends, traveling, playing guitar and reading.
