Biography

Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, Dr. Courtney Hodshon completed his residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville, NC. He is board certified in OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is joining Wilmington Health after 14 years in a busy practice in Tennessee. Dr. Hodshon provides a full range of OB/GYN services from prenatal care to delivery and routine gynecology visits to complicated gynecology surgery. His true passion lies in minimally invasive surgery and he has many years of experience using the da Vinci robot in complex gynecology cases including hysterectomy and pelvic prolapse surgery.

Before medical school, Dr. Hodshon attended Duke University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and then the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a Master of Arts in Teaching. He and his wife are excited about moving back to North Carolina and even more excited about being on the coast! He has two sons who are in college, one at UNC Chapel Hill and the other at Virginia Tech. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors.
