Anthony N. Botros, MD, MBA is a fellowship-trained rhinologist and skull base surgeon specializing in the medical and surgical management of complex disorders of the nose, sinuses, and anterior skull base. As an exciting addition to Wilmington Health’s Ear, Nose, and Throat team, Dr. Botros expands the practice’s expertise in advanced rhinology, bringing highly specialized care for patients with chronic sinus disease, nasal obstruction, recurrent nasal polyps, sinonasal tumors, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks, pituitary and skull base conditions, and other complex disorders requiring minimally invasive endoscopic techniques.
Dr. Botros completed his undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He proudly earned both his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, where he also served as class president. He was the recipient of the prestigious Brody Scholarship and received the distinction of Alpha Omega Alpha induction during his third year of medical school, an honor designated for the top 10% of medical school students nationwide.
He completed a NeuroRhinology and Skull Base Fellowship under nationally recognized leaders in the field following his Otolaryngology residency at Emory University with a focus in Healthcare Management. Throughout his training, Dr. Botros attended over two dozen surgical courses and developed extensive experience in advanced endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery while actively contributing to research that is helping shape the future of rhinology. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and has had his work presented at national and international meetings, including the American Rhinologic Society. He has consistently demonstrated a commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and advancing evidence-based care.
Dr. Botros is dedicated to providing individualized, patient-centered treatment plans that combine the latest medical therapies with advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques when appropriate. He believes in partnering closely with patients to improve quality of life through thoughtful diagnosis, comprehensive education, and the use of the most current evidence available. His addition further strengthens Wilmington Health’s comprehensive ENT program by bringing specialized rhinology and skull base expertise to southeastern North Carolina, allowing patients to access highly advanced care close to home.
Dr. Botros looks forward to returning to Eastern North Carolina and serving its community members. In his free time, Dr. Botros enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, running, skiing, and racquet sports.
