Biography

Dr. Taylor Harris joined the Surgery Team at Wilmington Health in early 2026. Dr. Harris is a dedicated surgeon with compassion for the needs of her patients, excellent communication skills, surgical expertise, and the emotional intelligence to engage in creating teamwork in the operating room or clinic.

Dr. Harris earned her Doctor of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship and the Jerry and Jenny Reeves Scholarship. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Coastal Carolina University, conferred magna cum laude and was awarded numerous academic honors. She completed her general surgery residency at Prisma Health- Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina in 2026 and brings a breadth of training in abdominal and soft tissue surgical techniques as well as robotic certifications.  

In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Harris has a strong background in research, teaching, and service. She has authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at regional surgical conferences, and contributed to innovative surgical education through video and poster presentations. Her dedication to mentorship and education is reflected in her teaching roles at MUSC and her leadership in service-based learning initiatives. Dr. Harris is certified in ACLS, ATLS, and BLS and maintains active membership in several professional medical and surgical organizations, underscoring her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in surgery.

In her free time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time outdoors, including hiking, paddle boarding, and relaxing with her dog. She also enjoys cooking, spending quality time with family, and traveling internationally.
