Sean Leonard, MD

Biography

Sean P. Leonard, M.D. comes to Wilmington Health having recently retired as a Commander in the United States Navy after 24 years on active service. During his Navy career, Dr. Leonard treated active and retired members, as well as their families.

He is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered, and evidence-based care to his patients. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, Dr. Leonard holds a certification in medical acupuncture, which he incorporates into his practice.

On Saturday afternoons in the fall, Dr. Leonard can be found watching college football games rooting for his alma mater, Notre Dame. He also enjoys watching his children play competitive soccer and going to the beach with his family. Dr. Leonard is happy to be returning home to North Carolina and is excited to join the Wilmington Health team.
