Biography

Dr. Elijah Engwall graduated from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathy degree and is board-certified in Family Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Throughout his academic career, he was a member of the National Honor Society, as well as a student honor athlete and champion in track & field. Dr. Engwall is dedicated to community service and served as a volunteer throughout his academic career for various non-profit organizations. He also completed a medical mission trip to Honduras and Dominican Republic by providing critical health care to underserved nations.

My husband Miguel & I have Dr. Engwall as our PCP. Dr. Engwall is great, he is very professional great bedside manners, listens very well & doesn’t make us feel rushed. Ayana who works with Dr. Engwall is the best anything you need she is very attentive and calls right back. We moved to Wilmington from NYC and we were quite nervous when looking for a pcp, but we definitely found a great doctor and staff we appreciate all they do for us. Dr. Engwall was an exceptional doctor. Affable, and professional, like seeing a faithful friend, he was diligent to refer my family to specialists in the area. The receptionist told me that, "All his patients loved him," and my family and I were no exception. My two year old still says, "See Li-sak?" When he was given simple drawings, from the kids, his sincere appreciation caused them to feel as if they had given him a masterpiece. "He has kind eyes," says my teen. A true gentleman, he gave me his seat. One of his best qualities was his purposeful communication which was both inspiring, and personally challenging. I have taken my family to doctors all over the country, in foreign countries, and spent two weeks at the Mayo clinic. These experiences give me the confidence to say that Dr. Engwall was a necessary but rare treasure. My little ones were perfectly safe in his gentle, and capable hands. He was a world changer who will forever have my deepest respect, and earnest prayers.
