Dr. Skaret is originally from Florida, where he completed his undergraduate education at Florida State University. He obtained his MD degree from the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine through the U.S. Navy’s Health Professions Scholarship Program. Dr. Skaret completed internship and residency in internal medicine at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He completed fellowship training in gastroenterology at Naval Medical Center San Diego prior to moving to North Carolina. Dr. Skaret is a Navy veteran, serving most recently as the sole GI specialist at Camp Lejeune, where he provided evidence-based, compassionate care to Sailors, Marines, and their families.
Dr. Skaret is married to a Wilmington Health Obstetrician/Gynecologist, and they live in Wilmington with their three boys and a precocious French bulldog. In their free time, the Skarets enjoy family adventures around town, days out on the water, and date nights at new restaurants.
