Anesthesia

  • Performance of history, review of systems and physical exam
  • Assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia (to include nurses and other paramedical staff to assist with compilation of information or patient contact for purposes of periprocedural evaluation and screening)
  • Preparation and administration of medications necessary for the delivery of anesthesia/analgesia and for the management of perioperative conditions

  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute pain, to include the use of medications and procedures in the perioperative setting.

  • Evaluation of respiratory function and application of respiratory therapies. Use of routine and advanced airway measures including direct and video laryngoscopy, endotracheal intubation, placement of supraglottic airway devices and fiberoptic bronchoscopy for intubation and evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic maneuvers.
  • Image guided procedures, to include the clinical use of ultrasound for performance of procedures and for assessment of clinical condition in the periprocedural setting
    Placement of invasive lines/catheters, including peripheral IVs,
  • Clinical management of cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation (use of BLS/ACLS/PALS)
  • Consultation of other specialists in the assessment and management of patients in the periprocedural period
  • Ordering and evaluating labs and imaging for assessment of patients in the periprocedural period; to include but not limited to EKGs and X-rays
