iTREAT-PC: The purpose of this study is to compare different currently existing asthma treatments: a pill or adding a second inhaler to see if they reduce the need for emergency care or going to the hospital. Both treatments are already FDA-approved and not experimental. The study will also help researchers understand asthma symptom management and barriers to treatment in patients who are still experiencing asthma symptoms.
We’re looking for people who:
- Are 13-75 years old
- Have been diagnosed with asthma for more than 1 year
- Are on an inhaled corticosteroid inhaler
- Have had an asthma exacerbation (worse symptoms) in the last year
