Miller J. Van Vliet, D.O. has joined Wilmington Health’s Anesthesiology team, bringing with him over two decades of experience in providing safe, precise, and patient-focused anesthetic care. With a long-standing commitment to clinical excellence, Dr. Van Vliet has held leadership roles throughout his career, including Director of Anesthesia at Wilmington Plastic Surgery and Chief of Anesthesia at Central Maine Medical Center. His extensive background across hospital settings in North Carolina and Maine reflects a dedication to serving diverse patient populations with exceptional skill and composure.

Known by colleagues for his calm presence in the operating room and an unwavering attention to detail, Dr. Van Vliet’s approach is grounded in both technical expertise and a deep sense of responsibility. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, he continually engages in peer review and committee work, such as his service on the Novant Health Robotic Surgery Steering Committee and COVID Surgical Appropriateness Committee, underscoring his passion for improving patient outcomes through collaboration and evidence-based practice.
