DOT Exams

Wilmington Health is scheduling Department of Transportation (DOT) exams with Certified Medical Examiners. Every individual with a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is now required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) to receive a DOT exam from a Certified Medical Examiner.

This requirement from FMCSA was initiated in May 2014. DOT exams are required every one to two years, depending on the patient’s medical history. DOT exams are covered by commercial insurance.
