Medical Condition: Type 1 Diabetes

Description: We are doing this study to find out how well insulin icodec controls blood sugar compared to insulin degludec in people with type 1 diabetes also taking a marketed mealtime insulin (insulin aspart). Insulin icodec is a new insulin taken once-weekly on the same day each week. Insulin degludec is an insulin already available on the market, taken once-daily, preferably at the same time each day. This research study may be an option if you:
- Have been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for at least 1 year
- Have been treated with multiple daily insulin injections for at least 1 year
- Have not had a heart attack or stroke within the last 180 days
- Are not diagnosed with Class IV Chronic Heart Failure
- Do not have a planned Coronary, Carotid or Peripheral Artery revascularization
Other criteria apply. Please make sure to discuss with a member of our research staff to ensure this study is a good fit for you. Qualified participants will receive all study-related care and study medication at no cost.

Patient Commitment Duration: Approximately 1 year and 2 months
Number of visits in study: Approximately 28 clinic visits and 28 phone calls
Patient Compensation: Financial compensation will be provided for time and travel expenses.
