Description:

A research study is evaluating an investigational medication that may slow the progression of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency in patients with emphysema.

This research study may be an option if you:

·         Have a clinical diagnosis of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency

·         Have evidence of emphysema

·         Have been a non-smoker for at least 12 months

·         Have no history of moderate to severe liver fibrosis

Qualified participants will receive all study-related care and study medication at no cost.

Enrollment: Open

Patient Commitment Duration: Approximately 5 months

Number of visits in study: Approximately 9 clinic visits and 2 phone calls

Patient Compensation: Financial compensation may be provided for time and travel expenses
