Biography
Lorena Mauney, NP graduated from Duke University majoring in Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Capella University, as well as received certification as a Emergency Medical Technician- Paramedic in 1994. Lorena comes to Wilmington Health with a variety of acute care and emergency care experience. Lorena is also an experienced forensic nurse examiner who has done evidence collection exams, treatment, and support of victims of violence. She was a Duke University academic scholarship recipient and was inducted into the Honor Society of Nursing. Lorena has served in her career as a nurse practitioner at Dosher Memorial Hospital serving in the Wound Care Center and Urgent Care. She also served at Goshen Medical Center at their community clinic. And, lastly she served with Kaiser Permanente managing day-to-day clinical operations at a busy 24-hour urgent care. Lorena is fluent in Spanish and very experienced in the urgent and emergency care settings.
