Biography

Mrs. Abernathy has served in a variety of clinical settings, including family practice, pediatrics, women’s health, and urgent care. Mrs. Abernathy has leveraged her expertise by also serving as a clinical instructor at several practices educating students on how to provide high-quality care to patients.

As a family nurse practitioner, Mrs. Abernathy treats her patients with the utmost respect in managing their immediate and chronic health care needs along with expressing the importance of preventative care. Mrs. Abernathy also has a special interest in working with patients with metabolic syndrome and pre-diabetes, as she wants to prevent patients from advancing to diabetes.

Mrs. Abernathy is an avid gardener. She completed the Master Gardner curriculum in Alaska. She enjoys subsistence fishing, reading, and taking walks with her dog Sage.
