Wilmington Health and NHRMC join Forces to Provide Important Community Healthcare Message
Local healthcare leaders met last week to discuss strategies to contain COVID-19 and to limit the spread. Most have heard this recently referenced on the news as, “flattening the curve”. With new confirmed cases reported in our state, as well as unfortunate deaths, it is more important than ever to follow guidelines outlined by the CDC. The most important guideline is social distancing.
Wilmington Health and NHRMC have partnered together to present a PSA titled, “Cape Fear vs COVID-19”. It is being utilized on local newscasts. This message was delivered by; Dr. Phillip Brown-NHRMC, Dr. Paul Kamitsuka- Wilmington Health, Dr. Bob Lubanski-NHRMC, and Dr. Matt Sincock- Wilmington Health. The message emphasized the importance of social distancing, as it will support in containment of Covid-19, relief in emergency departments, preserving PPE (personal protective equipment), as well as protecting our community’s health and safety.
Wilmington Health continues to provide insight and counsel to our community and state leaders. Within the last week, several concerns regarding the public’s health and well-being were discussed as part of a call with Gov. Cooper. These calls were followed by Governor Cooper’s announcement on Friday afternoon for a “Stay-at-home” order, which both Wilmington Health and NHRMC are actively engaged in educating patients as well on this importance. Each organization has referenced this on their websites.
Both organizations are finding it crucial that we all, as a community, rally together to protect our patients, our healthcare providers, our community, and most of all our loved ones. Our community knows how to weather a storm, and we can surely weather this one. Wilmington Health and NHRMC stand strong with our Wilmington family.
