PAD Screenings

Wilmington Health Vascular Surgery is offering peripheral artery disease (PAD) screenings.

They use the ankle-brachial index to detect PAD. This painless, non-invasive test only takes a few minutes and is highly accurate. PAD can occur when the arteries in your legs are unable to receive oxygenated blood because of plaque or calcium buildup. Individuals with PAD may experience pain in the hips, buttocks, thighs, shins, knees, and upper feet. Risk factors for PAD include aging, diabetes, smoking, high cholesterol, obesity, and lack of exercise.

If you have any questions regarding the PAD screenings or would like to make an appointment, please call 910-763-6289 to schedule an appointment.
