Wilmington Health Offering Free Blood Pressure Checks May 15

Wilmington Health providers are rolling up their sleeves to improve blood pressure control! They are offering free blood pressure screenings on May 15, 2-4 p.m., in front of Barnes and Noble at Mayfaire (850 Inspiration Drive, Wilmington).

May 15 is the first ever Measure Up/Pressure Down National Day of Action. Measure Up/Pressure Down is a campaign of the American Medical Group Foundation (AMGA) committed to improving the high blood pressure epidemic. Its mission is to boost the nation’s health by improving high blood pressure prevention, detection, and control. By 2016, the campaign’s goal is to have 80% of the high blood pressure patients nationwide in control of their conditions.

“We’re very excited to take part in the Measure Up/Pressure Down National Day of Action,” said Sandy Brannin, DO, Wilmington Health Internal Medicine. “With free blood pressure screenings, we can help patients take the first step to getting their blood pressure on track. Because this campaign is making an impact at a national level, it’s a great event to be part of.”
