Wilmington Health Launches an Advanced Patient Health Record System
Wilmington Health recently launched a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) System from NextGen Healthcare. The integrated program seamlessly facilitates collaborative care between primary and specialty providers, optimizing quality care for patients.
“To continually improve the quality of care we provide, we must integrate the latest technology into our services,” said Jeff James, Wilmington Health’s Chief Executive Officer. “As the largest multi-specialty provider in the area, we require an EHR that lets providers communicate with specialists while keeping patients in the loop on their care. The new NextGen Healthcare EHR will help accomplish these goals.”
The new program will enhance the coordination of care between referring providers; safely secure and store patient information; provide a collective patient profile, improving provider awareness of patients’ medical history; and effectively manage population health.
"Wilmington Health is at a point where we want to take our healthcare to the next level,” said Jonathan Hines, MD, Wilmington Health’s Chief Medical Officer. “With the NextGen EHR, our providers will be able to retrieve and analyze data effortlessly, allowing them to spend more time with patients.”
A digital file of a patient’s chart, EHR stores each patient’s medical history. By having one single medical health record, providers are able to effectively manage the patient’s health. Only authorized individuals are able to access the encrypted system through secured logins and passwords.
