Flu Vaccines Available at Wilmington Health Pediatrics

Wilmington Health Pediatrics has received its seasonal flu serum and will be hosting flu clinics at 2421 Silver Stream Lane, Wilmington, starting September 14 and ending December 14 for Wilmington Health pediatric patients. The clinics will be open every Saturday from 8-10 a.m. and will accept walk-ins only.

“As a pediatrician, my main objective is to keep children healthy and happy,” said Wilmington Health’s Marc Yandle, MD. “Parents can assist me in achieving this goal by keeping up on all their child’s vaccinations including the flu vaccine. When your child receives the flu vaccine, you are preventing an avoidable, prolonged illness in not just your child, but other children as well.”

Wilmington Health Pediatrics recommends that children at least six months of age get the flu vaccine. If your child has a high risk of getting serious complications when sick, it is also strongly advised to have your child vaccinated. In addition, children with asthma, diabetes, chronic lung disease, and other medical conditions are also recommended to receive the vaccine. For more details about the flu vaccine, visit http://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/keyfacts.htm.

If Saturdays don’t work with your schedule, call Wilmington Health Pediatrics to schedule an appointment during the week. Wilmington Health Pediatrics offers three convenient locations including offices in Wilmington, North Chase, and Leland. To learn more about Wilmington Health Pediatrics, call 910.763.2072.
