Wilmington Health Physician Earns Board Certifications

Dr. Nicholas Jernigan now certified in internal medicine and pediatrics

Wilmington Health physician Nicholas Jernigan, MD, recently passed board examinations in internal medicine and pediatrics. The boards were administered by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. Beyond passing these rigorous examinations, Dr. Jernigan has met his training, licensure, and procedural requirements in order to become a board-certified physician.

"I'm honored to join the ranks among my peers who are board-certified physicians," said Dr. Jernigan. "It takes hard work and dedication to complete the stringent requirements and examinations. However, I feel it's what I need to do to provide the best quality care to my patients."

Dr. Jernigan received his bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He went to medical school at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Greenville, NC. His residency was completed in internal medicine/pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX.
