WHA Departments

Sleep Medicine

The department of Sleep Medicine provides three convenient diagnostic centers:

  • 1202 Medical Center Drive, Wilmington
  • 8115 Market Street, Porters Neck
  • 509 Olde Waterford Way, Leland
Our free-standing facilities are fully equipped to diagnose and treat sleep disorders, as well as educate patients on these disorders. Sleep studies are useful in uncovering hidden health issues such as obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, periodic limb movements, restless leg syndrome, REM behavior disorder, sleepwalking and other disturbances. Wilmington Health's sleep center provides a comfortable, homelike atmosphere that lets patients follow their normal sleep schedules.

While sleeping in a private bedroom, patients are monitored for 6-8 hours by a Wilmington Health Registered Polysomnography Sleep Technologist. Our sleep Technologists record and score sleep studies with state-of-the-art equipment. Each sleep study is interpreted by a physician specializing in sleep disorders.

Our sleep center is the only multi-disciplinary sleep center in the coastal Carolina region and with a team of physicians that are board certified in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Neurology and Otolaryngology.
