OB/GYN (formerly Carolina OB/GYN)
The medical staff in the Wilmington Health OB/GYN department provides care and advice for women from puberty through adulthood. In addition to providing physical examinations, breast examinations, and pap smears, our specialists help patients with family planning decisions and birth options and care for them during pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause. We also offer in office permanent sterilization (ESSURE), hysteroscopy, Uro-Dynamics, and surgical procedures using the latest technology via Robotic Surgery.
Our registered nurses and experienced childbirth educators offer childbirth and breastfeeding classes to help prepare our soon-to-be mothers. To learn more about these classes, including dates and times, visit the Childbirth Education Classes page. We also have specially trained and registered diagnostic medical sonographers on staff to perform ultrasound evaluations for early pregnancy confirmations, or to visualize pelvic structures or developing pregnancies.
Another aspect of the OB/GYN department is our focus on total women's health and well-being. A prime example of this effort is our Mammography Screening Program, designed to provide women with early detection options.
