Internal Medicine

The Physicians and Mid-level providers of Wilmington Health Internal Medicine department diagnose and treat non-surgical illnesses in adults. These providers will attend to primary healthcare needs including regular health examinations, preventative services, and address acute illnesses as they come up. Internists routinely monitor and manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. In functioning as patient's "primary" care takers, the providers often function as the initial diagnosticians for our patients. In addition, they are routinely guiding patients through the complex medical system making referrals and taking responsibility for the coordination of care.

In addition, the Pediatrics and Family Medicine divisions care for pediatric and adolescent patients in their convenient locations throughout the Wilmington area.

Having a medical home is important if you visit your doctor once a year or regularly. Your medical home is your home base that collects your medical information and shares it with collaborating providers. We coordinate your care to make sure you are being treated appropriately. We care about you and will continue to strive to provide the best care possible. To learn more about medical homes and PCMH, click here.
